Deasey, 58, has been appointed as the Company's Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, and has been elected to the Board of Directors. Crystal Lake man indicted in fatal punch at bar
A Crystal Lake man has been indicted on first-degree murder and aggravated battery charges after an altercation outside a bar in September turned fatal, authorities said Thursday.
Bail was set at $750,000 for Dustin Goy, 30, of the 1000 block of Barlina Road at a hearing Wednesday in McHenry County Circuit Court, authorities said
Goy is accused of punching Anthony Carlsen, 45, in what witnesses said was an unprovoked attack Sept. 9 outside The Cottage at 6 E. Crystal Lake Ave., said Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Dennis Harris. Carlsen, of Crystal Lake, died of his injuries a week after the attack.

Cleveland Clinic Leading Clinical Program to Improve Early-Stage Lung ...
CHICAGO, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Cleveland Clinic and Riverain Medical today announced the establishment of the first study in an ongoing program to determine whether chest X-ray CAD (computer-aided detection) can improve practical early detection of lung cancer. The program is designed to determine whether chest X-ray CAD can help identify hard to detect lung cancers at an early stage when they are most treatable, leading to improved patient survival rates. The announcement of the clinical program was made at the 93rd Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America being held November 25-30, 2007, in Chicago, IL. "Developing early detection methods is a key to improving treatment of lung cancer," said Micheal Phillips, M.D., Section Head of Imaging Sciences in Cleveland Clinic's Department of Diagnostic Radiology.
Higley schools, Google in talks for online partnership
Arizona State University began offering Google Apps to students in October 2006 because of the system's large capacity for e-mail storage and enhanced spam filtering, according to an ASU press release. The Google Apps system has also received praised because it allows multiple users to edit a document at once. Moore said he said he expects the partnership, as well as Google Apps, to be beneficial to Higley students and "K-12 education across the country." .
